Abstract

Shuangdong anticlinal paleo-reservoir in the northern Haiguan Uplift adjacent to the basin, Liuqiying and Suqiao buried hill reservoirs in Jizhong Depression are all the "paleo-source and paleo-reservoir" typed hydrocarbon reservoirs in Bohaiwan Basin region. Shuangdong paleo-reservoir is composed of Meso-proterozoic-Neo-proterozoic Tieling Formation of hydrocarbon-bearing rocks without the common overlying Paleogene source rocks, which indicates that the source rocks are the own Meso-proterozoic and Neo-proterozoic rocks. Liuqiying Ordovician buried hill reservoir is capped by Carboniferous-Permian rock, overlying which it is just the 1000~3000m-thick Cenozoic Shahejie Member-3 and Kongdian Formation. Hydrocarbon is unable to migrate downwards into the Liuqiying Ordovician reservoir through the thick interlayers of Shahejie Member-3 and Kongdian Formation although hydrocarbon in Cenozoic rocks mostly derives from the Shahejie Member-3 source rock. Therefore, the hydrocarbon in Liuqiying Paleozoic buried hill reservoir cannot come from the newer Cenozoic rocks. Suqiao reservoir is a multiple one that is superimposed by a Carboniferous gas reservoir in the upper and Ordovician oil reservoir in the lower. The hydrocarbon in Suqiao buried hill reservoir cannot come from the newer rocks too based on the correlation of oil, gas and water property. It is suggested that the Meso-proterozoic and Neo-proterozoic rocks are of good hydrocarbon-generating potential and primary hydrocarbon reservoirs are hopeful to be discovered in deep ancient rocks, especially in Linqing Depression.
