Abstract

At present, the oil exploration targets of China seas mainly focus on the Cenozoic basins while exploration provinces and horizons mostly are limited to the Cenozoic strata. In fact, China Seas developed Paleozoic marine platform deposits, Tethys marine deposits, South China Sea reefs, and deep-water basins of South China Sea and Okinawa trough, in which China has not done much work. With fast and continuously increasing China national economy, China pays more attention to the new frontiers and new provinces of China sea areas. On the bases of geological survey and studies, marine oil and gas resources potential of the new frontiers can be evaluated, the new provinces of oil and gas exploration could be provided, the promising areas in China seas areas could be extended. On the integrated studies, it will be probable that marine oil and gas exploration makes to break though due to discovering huge oil or gas fields with large reserves.
