Abstract

Sedimentation of Lower Triassic Daye deep-water carbonate rock at Songzi indicates a deep water environment in general although sea water was getting shallow during early-late Lower Triassic period. Daye rock contacts conformably with the underlying Upper Permian Changxing layered limestone. It contains deep-water autochthonous thin micritic limestone interbedded with shale and deep-water allochthonous turbidity and clastic current deposits. 4 groups and 3 associations of lithofacies are classified.
