Abstract

On the basis of available information of chronostratigraphy, biostratigraphy, lithology and stratigraphy, linking with the data of logging, seismic, paleontology, cores and diagenesis, the Tertiary Zhujiang Formation in Dongsha uplift can be divided into four 3rd grade sequences and five sequence boundaries. Four types of interface marks are classified, i.e. depositional mark, diagenetic mark, logging mark and seismic mark. These interfaces marks are of their own predominance and limitation so that they need confirm from each other when they are used to obtain more reliable and accurate division of sequence boundaries.
